Fun with a friend

Our friend Charlie came to play yesterday afternoon. While Mark was napping, the big boys played with playdoh.


Then, they worked a puzzle together.



Finally, they polished off some purple popsicles on the deck.

Pudding Paint

It was rainy, my toe is jammed and I didn't feel like moving around a lot, and it's Monday...so we made pudding paint with squishy bags. The boys had a big time.

Mark's latest trick

When I went to get Mark up this morning, I found him sitting bare-chested in his crib. He had taken off his pajama shirt and had such a proud expression on his sweet face. He "talked" all about the shirt lying on the floor and told me all about how it got there.


Since then, he has disrobed at the breakfast table, in the den, and in the hallway right as we were trying to get out of the house! He is getting a real kick out of this new skill. Nathan decided to join in the fun, too.


Oh, the joy of little boys! I do love them so.

Good thing they can get away with running around half-naked this summer, right?

Thank you, God, For...

The way Mark and Nathan love to watch their daddy at all times, especially when he is working in the yard...

my Nathan, who is growing up and able to go to the bathroom all by himself, but still needs to sit in my lap and have me rub his back when he is sick...

my Mark, the little firecracker, who can bounce and squeal and laugh hysterically one minute and grab hold of my neck with the sweetest hug the next...

and the way our den is filled with Greg's guitar, Nathan's singing, and Mark's dancing to "Our God is So Big," and knowing that HE really is big enough to hold the whole world in His hands.

Boys in PJ"s

Good afternoon! Nathan is wearing big boy underwear today. So far, we haven't had any accidents and he's been really happy about the whole thing. He's been staying dry in his pull-ups for a few weeks now, so I cleared my calendar for a few days so we can all make this transition.

Here are the boys hanging out in their pajamas. Mark says "dog-dog" with much enthusiasm when he gets to wear these!


Nathan loves to play his "record player" in the morning (and afternoon, and evening...)


My quiet time alarm has sounded, so I'm off to get Nathan out of his room. I promised him he could watch a "movie" if he stayed dry and was quiet as a mouse. Here's a shot of him relaxing while Greg played guitar this weekend.
